Can I Ever Get Flat Or Six-Pack Abs? Part 2

I am going to assume you have read part 1 and have made an appointment with your physician or have seen one already and have gotten their seal of approval to begin your tailored diet and exercise program.  You should also know how many calories you should consume daily and where you can cut back.  If you can get a friend to join you in your weight loss experience that should keep you more motivated and accountable than if you try to do this alone.

I have heard this so many times

I have heard this so many times I lost track of how many!  If you are a soda drinker or one who likes other types of sugary drinks, one way to cut back on your calories is to either stop drinking them cold turkey or drink less of them. Ice-cold filtered water is your very best source for a beverage. Try to drink 64 ounces per day (or more if your doctor gives the ok.)  I have heard that people dropped about 15 pounds just by cutting out the sodas.   Imagine if you did that plus cut back in other areas and worked out.  Are you seeing your body shrinking and sculpting already?!

Ok enough already about the diet-what about the exercises?

One way to boost your metabolism and start burning the fat is to do weight training three to four times a week for 45 minutes.  Be sure you are doing this properly so you don’t injure yourself.  Weight training stimulates muscle growth and burns an incredible amount of calories-some suggest even more than cardio exercises!  In between your weight training exercises, you will need to engage in some sort of aerobic exercise for a minimum of three times a week for twenty to thirty minutes.  You don’t need to go nuts with the intensity of the exercises; however, it does need to become a habit that you stick with.  That is why they always say to pick an exercise you enjoy since that will make it that much easier to continue.

Aerobic exercises are generally low in intensity.  Some examples of indoor aerobic exercises are the Ab Circle Pro, Ab Lounger II, elliptical trainer, indoor rower, stair climber, stationary bikes and a treadmill.  Outdoor examples are cross country skiing, cycling, downhill skiing, inline skating, running, playing tennis and walking.  Even just brisk walking does a body good, gets the heart pumping and works out your entire body.  Not only will your body get a good workout but your mind will too as endorphins are released and you will begin feeling better.  If you hate even seeing the word exercise, try just walking and see how it makes you feel.

Here are two YouTube videos that will show you how to sculpt your abs:
